Quotations fromthe Italian Alps

We set out to hike the Alto Via di Merano (The High Merano Trail) (the first image is in the town of Merano). After two days we hit a snow line that could not be hiked and had to turn back. It was still breathtakingly beautiful. When we returned we took the train and a bus into the Dolomites and spent several nights there camping in a campground. Exquisite. As were the small towns we spent the nights in when traveling, especially seeing the well preserved Ötzi, the iceman!
