Sam Lay Band with Billy Branch, Chicago Blues Festival, June 2011

Sam Lay has won just about every blues drummer award out there. I am not sure why he now plays guitar in his band, perhaps a health issue, but I was just happy to see him play the blues! His band was outstanding. I especially appraciated guitarist Mark Wydra. Sitting in was illinois' own Billy Branch who later took the main stage.

I was shooting with my Lumix GF1 and decided to shoot a video of one of their numbers. The quality so surprised me that I put it up on YouTube. Here it is below.
