The Mayan ruins of Tikal
What these ruins mean to me was mentioned on the previous screen. So here are just the facts: The Mesoamerican Mayan Kingdom existed as early as 2000 B.C. but was at its fullest glory from AD 250-900. Tikal, at its peak around AD 750, was home to 60,000 Maya. It was simply breathtaking to climb the temples, see the facades with still legible heiroglyphics (not that I could read them), all in the jungle setting.
